We welcome the launch of the public consultation on “The First Five-Year Plan for Economic and Social Development of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (2026-2030)”, a significant milestone that sets out a forward-looking vision and strategic direction for the city’s development. The Plan provides an important framework to support Hong Kong’s high-quality development and its deeper integration into the overall national development agenda.
As the Plan comprehensively covers key economic and livelihood sectors, particularly healthcare, we see strong opportunities to further strengthen Hong Kong’s role in innovation- and research-driven development. In particular, continued advancement in areas such as clinical research, talent development, and cross-boundary collaboration will be important in enhancing Hong Kong’s contribution within the Greater Bay Area.
